Space Race is Vostok Europe's latest watch line dedicated to the legendary 20th Century competition between the Soviet Union and the USA to achieve superior space flight capability.
The Space Race started by a pioneering launch of an artificial satellite (Sputnik 1) in 1957 and continued by robotic space probes to the Moon, Venus and Mars, human spaceflights in the low Earth orbit and ultimately to the Moon.
Depending on who you ask, the race has different endpoints: either after USA's moon landing in 1969, or with the cooperative US–USSR Apollo-Soyuz test project in 1975. Some historians will argue that only the collapse of the Soviet Union set the seal on the Space race.
Despite the date the Space Race line combines a classic, vintage look with modern, clear lines that result in beautiful and timeless watches. The 46 mm diameter of the case provides great time readability and the movement is protected by an extra hardened, durable K1 crystal. With the screw-in crown and case back, the watches are also 20atm waterproof.
Each piece comes with one pre-mounted bracelet in a beautiful Vostok Europe gift box.
