General information
Halley's Comet is a celestial body that moves through our solar system and can be seen with the naked eye from Earth. Due to its elliptical trajectory the comet crosses only every 75 years Earth's orbit. During the last passing by in 1986, Japan, the Soviet Union and ESA sent probes into space in order examine the comet. This was the very first opportunity to get so close to the flying object and collect valuable information about the big bang and the creation of the universe. ESA's probe managed to get close a few hundred kilometers to the comet's nucleus and collect data that was used for further research.
The 'Halley's Comet' Special Edition by Vostok Europe took the play of colors to heart that originate from the comet and space itself. Aventurine, a blue quartz stone, is used for the dial. Not only it's chemical composition but also its various mineral inclusions create a natural variation in each dial - making each watch appear in its own unique beauty. It's also been said that blue Aventurine is a symbol for bravery and optimism. The indices have a multi-color glowing of luminous material. The 20 atm water resistant case is blue PVD plated and yellow and black PVD highlights outline the holistic design.
Each piece comes in a beautiful Vostok Europe gift box and includes one pre-mounted "astronaut style" leather strap.
