Systema Periodicum
Systema Periodicum is a groundbreaking construct in modern chemistry, equally revered in physics and various scientific disciplines. Better known as the Periodic Table, it organizes and arranges all 118 elements known today. Furthermore, it describes properties of new, yet undiscovered chemical elements, making it one of the most remarkable achievements in the field of science.
The eponymous series by Vostok Europe draws inspiration from this system. Each model in the Systema Periodicum collection is a unique tribute to a specific chemical element. The back of the case includes a description of the element (in English), accompanied by its elemental symbol and chemical details.
Particularly noteworthy is the distinctive "Bullhead" case design. The crown is positioned at 12 o'clock, with the chronograph pushers located alongside. This arrangement makes it easier to operate both the chronograph and the crown, reducing strain on the wrist. Additionally, the case back exhibits a technical refinement: instead of the usual flat design, it is asymmetrically / slightly curved. This enhances comfort during wear and simplifies time readability.
Not only the technical craftsmanship but also the color combinations create a synthesis of the fundamental elements that shape our understanding of the physical world.
The color combination of each model reflects the view of an element in its natural environment. The straps have also been redesigned for the series: in addition to color combinations and patterns, the connectors have been redesigned. They feature quick-release springs and can be exchanged in seconds without the need for tools.
